Anita Delgado

Anita Delgado was a real person who lived a long time ago. She was born in Spain in the year 1890. When she was just 15 years old, she got to do something very special – she became a dancer. People loved watching her dance because she moved so gracefully and made everyone happy.

One day, when she was dancing in a big show in Spain, someone important saw her – a prince! This prince, named Maharaja Jagatjit Singh, was the ruler of a place called Kapurthala, which is in India. He was very rich and powerful.

The prince was so impressed by Anita's dancing that he decided he wanted her to be his wife. Yes, you heard it right! He asked her to marry him and she agreed. So at just 16 years old, Anita became a princess!

Anita went to live in India with the prince. She was treated like royalty, with servants to help her and beautiful clothes to wear. She lived in a big palace and had everything she could ever want.

But life as a princess wasn't always easy. Anita had to learn a new language and follow new customs and traditions. She had to be very proper and do things a certain way. She had to go to lots of fancy parties and meet important people. It was very different from the life she knew back in Spain.

Anita and the prince had a daughter together, but sadly their marriage didn't work out. They got divorced after a few years, and Anita went back to Spain, taking her daughter with her.

Back in Spain, Anita became famous for her story. People were amazed that a simple dancer could become a princess. She wrote a book about her life called "The Fountain of Gold" which told all about her adventures in India.

Anita lived a long and interesting life. She passed away in 1962, but her story is still remembered today. She showed that sometimes, amazing things can happen – even to ordinary people like dancers. So, if you love dancing or have a special talent, like Anita, who knows what incredible adventures might be waiting for you!
