Anno Domini

Anno Domini (which is Latin for "in the year of the Lord") is a way of measuring time. It is used to identify when something happened or was made. For example, if I said the Mona Lisa was created in 1503 Anno Domini, this means that the Mona Lisa was painted in 1503 AD. AD was chosen as a way of measuring time because it is the year that Jesus was born.
