Anointing of the sick

Okay kiddo, the anointing of the sick is a special ceremony that happens when someone is very sick or old and needs help from God.

So, when someone is sick or hurt, they might feel scared, sad or worried. The anointing of the sick helps them feel better and gives them hope.

During the ceremony, a priest comes to visit the sick person and brings special oil that has been blessed by the church. The oil is called "the oil of the sick."

The priest prays over the sick person, and then anoints or puts a little bit of the oil on their forehead and hands. This helps the sick person feel the love of God and gives them strength to deal with their sickness.

It's like when you get a hug from someone you love, and it makes you feel better.

But remember, anointing of the sick is not a magic spell or a guarantee that the person will feel better immediately. It is a symbol of faith and hope, and a reminder that God is with the sick person during their struggles.
