António José da Silva

António José da Silva was a man who lived a long time ago in a place called Portugal. He was very good at making people laugh and wrote plays that were funny and silly. He lived during a time when the government didn't like when people made fun of them or were critical of them, so they arrested António and accused him of being mean to the government in his plays. They put him in jail and made him suffer a lot. Sadly, he eventually got punished by getting hurt very badly and being put to death. Even though he is not here anymore, people still remember him for his funny plays and his bravery in standing up for what he believed in.
