ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Anti-Austrian sentiment

Anti-Austrian sentiment is when people have negative feelings or ideas about the country of Austria or its people. It's like when you don't like something or someone because of the way they look or the things they do, but instead of a person, it's a whole country.

Sometimes people feel this way because of things that happened in the past. For example, during World War II, Austria was part of a group called the Axis Powers, who were fighting against the Allied Powers. The Axis Powers did some very bad things during the war, and some people still hold a grudge against them because of it.

Other times, people might have negative ideas about Austria because of something they heard or read. Maybe they think that all Austrians are rude, or that they don't like people from other countries.

It's important to remember that not all Austrians are the same, just like not all kids are the same. People have different ideas, beliefs, and personalities, and it's not fair to judge everyone based on what some people did in the past or what someone else said about them.
