Anti-suffragism

When people talk about suffrage, they are usually talking about the right to vote. "Anti-suffragism" is a big word that means some people did not want women to have the right to vote.

A long time ago, many people thought that only men should be allowed to vote because they believed women were not smart enough or tough enough to understand politics. These people were called "anti-suffragists." They did not think women should have the same rights as men when it came to voting.

Think of it like a game. Some people thought that only boys should be allowed to play, and girls should stay on the sidelines. But some people realized that this wasn't fair - girls were just as smart and skillful as boys. These people wanted to make sure that girls could also play the game. They were called "suffragists."

Suffragists fought long and hard for women's right to vote. It wasn't easy - there were many people who didn't want women to have that power. But eventually, the suffragists won, and now women have the right to vote just like men.

Anti-suffragism is not a thing anymore - but sometimes people still don't think women should be treated the same as men. We have to keep fighting for equality and making sure everyone has the same rights, no matter who they are.
