Antinous Mondragone

OK kiddo, imagine you go to a museum and you see a statue that looks like a person but it's not moving. This is called a sculpture. The Antinous Mondragone is one of these sculptures.

Antinous is the name of a real person who lived a very long time ago, in ancient Rome. He was very beautiful and was the lover of the Emperor Hadrian. They were very close and traveled together all around the Roman Empire.

Unfortunately, Antinous died at a young age and the emperor was very sad. He loved Antinous so much that he made many sculptures of him. The Antinous Mondragone is one of these sculptures.

The sculpture shows Antinous with his hair combed back, wearing a wreath on his head. He is also wearing a cloak that is falling from his shoulders. The statue is very big and made of marble, which is a very hard rock.

People like to look at the Antinous Mondragone because it is very beautiful and it reminds them of the love between Antinous and the emperor. It is also interesting because it shows what people dressed like a long time ago in Rome.
