Antoninianus

Antoninianus is a fancy word for an old Roman coin that was used a long time ago. It was first made in the year 215 AD, so that's over 1,800 years ago! The coin was made of a blend of different metals that made it look shiny and valuable. It was named after a guy named Antoninus who was a really important Roman emperor at the time.

Now, this coin was kinda special because it was worth a lot more than the other coins people used to use before it. That's because it had more precious metals in it which made it more valuable. But because everyone thought it was worth more, people started to try and make fake versions of it.

Over time, the Antoninianus started to become less and less valuable. And after a while, people began to stop using it altogether. But nowadays, people who study history really like to collect these coins and look at them as a way to learn more about the past.
