Apodization

Apodization is like helping a camera to see better, just like when you squint your eyes when it is too bright outside, or open your eyes wide when it is too dark.

Say you are taking a picture of the moon at night with your camera. The edges of the picture might appear blurry or wiggly, making it difficult to see the true shape and detail of the moon. This happens because the light from the moon spreads out as it enters the camera, creating a fuzzy zone around the edges of the picture.

To fix this, we use apodization. Apodization is a technique that helps the camera to focus better on the image, by controlling how the light behaves as it enters the camera. By adding a special filter to the camera, the light can be made to spread out less around the edges of the picture, making the image clearer and more detailed.

Think of it like putting on glasses to help you see better - apodization is like giving the camera a special set of lenses that sharpen the image and make it easier to see the fine details around the edges. So, apodization is a technique that helps us to take clearer, more detailed images with our cameras.
