Appeal to novelty is when someone thinks something is good just because it is new. For example, if you are in the toy store and see a toy you’ve never seen before and you want to buy it because it’s shiny and new, that’s appeal to novelty. Even if it’s not exactly what you wanted, you think it’s good just because it’s the newest one. So it’s a type of reasoning that uses something being new as the only reason to think it’s good.
