ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Application security

Application security is a way of making sure that programs and apps do what they're supposed to do, and don't do things they aren't supposed to do. It's like a lock and key for apps - the lock is like the security and the key is like the permission for the app to do its job. To help keep apps secure, special people called security experts create rules and tests to make sure apps are protected from people who might try to access them without permission, or trying to change or delete important information. This security helps protect data and information from being seen without permission and from being changed or tampered with.
