Applied ecology

Applied ecology is when scientists use their knowledge of nature and the environment to help solve problems. Scientists try to figure out how plants and animals interact with other living creatures and their environment. They also try to see how people can interfere with and alter the environment in a positive way. For example, scientists can do studies to see how certain changes can help to protect species of animals or plants.
