Apsara

Apsara is a word that comes from Hindu and Buddhist mythology. In those stories, an apsara is a magical female being, kind of like a fairy! They are known for being very beautiful and graceful.

In some stories, apsaras are dancers who perform for the gods in the sky. They wear very fancy clothes and glittery jewelry and they dance to amazing music. These dances are very special and they make everyone who watches them very happy.

Sometimes, apsaras are also called "celestial maidens" because they live in the sky with the gods. They are always happy and kind and they help the gods with important tasks.

People sometimes use the word "apsara" outside of Hindu and Buddhist mythology. When they do, they usually mean a woman who is very beautiful and graceful, kind of like the apsaras in the stories.
