Aramaic of Jesus

Alright kiddo, so Jesus spoke a language called Aramaic. Now, just like how you speak English and your friend might speak Spanish or Chinese, Jesus spoke Aramaic because that was the language people around him spoke.

Aramaic is an old language that was used a long time ago in the Middle East. Imagine it’s like if you played a video game from a long time ago - the graphics might not be as good as the games you play now, just like how Aramaic might sound different than the languages you hear today.

When Jesus was alive, a lot of people spoke Aramaic, so it was the language he used to talk to his friends and followers. That’s why some of the stories about Jesus in the Bible are written in Aramaic.

But don’t worry! Even though it’s an old language, people still know how to speak Aramaic today. It’s kind of like learning a new language - just like how you might learn Spanish or French in school, people can also learn Aramaic if they want to.

So that’s basically what Aramaic is and why Jesus spoke it - it was just the language that was around at the time.
