ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aramaic original New Testament theory

So, a long long time ago in the land of Israel, a man named Jesus lived. He did lots of good things and talked about how people should be kind and love each other.

After he died, people began writing stories about him called the New Testament. But there's a theory that the stories were originally written in a language called Aramaic, which was the common language of the time, rather than in the Greek language they are in today.

This theory says that the Aramaic stories were eventually translated into Greek, and that's what we have now. Some people think that the Aramaic stories might have been more accurate to what Jesus actually said and did, but we can't be sure since we don't have any original Aramaic documents.

Overall, it's just a way of trying to understand and learn more about the history of the New Testament and the life of Jesus.
