Aranmula Boat Race

Aranmula boat race is a very special event in a place called Aranmula, which is in the state of Kerala in India. Here, people make special boats that are called 'Palliyodams'. They are long and skinny, kind of like really long canoes. They are usually made of wood and are decorated with lots of bright colors and designs.

People who live in Aranmula and the surrounding areas form teams and get ready for the big race. They all wear special clothing and costumes that are also very colorful and pretty.

When the race starts, all the teams get into their own palliyodams and start rowing as fast as they can down a river called Pampa. The teams have to be really careful not to bump into each other or they might tip over!

The race is really exciting, and lots of people come from all over to watch. There are even big celebrations and feasts after the race is over.

The Aranmula boat race is a special way that the people in this area celebrate their traditions and culture. It happens every year during the month of August or September, so if you ever get a chance to visit, you should definitely check it out!
