Architecture of Cuba

So, you know how when you build a sandcastle on the beach you start by making a base with sand? Well, when people build buildings, they also need to start with a strong base. In Cuba, just like in other places, people use different materials to make their bases. Some use rocks, others use bricks or concrete.

Once they have a strong base, they can start building the walls, roof, and all the other parts of the building. In Cuba, buildings can look different depending on the time period they were built, and the purpose of the building.

Some buildings in Cuba are very old and were built a long time ago when Cuba was ruled by Spain. These buildings might have big stone arches and lots of intricate details on the outside. They might look like castles, and might have been used as homes for important people or as government buildings.

Other buildings in Cuba are more modern and were built in the 1900s or later. These buildings might have flat roofs and lots of windows, and might be used as offices, apartments or shops.

One of the most famous buildings in Cuba is the Capitolio. This huge building was built in the 1920s and was meant to be the headquarters for the government. It has a big dome on the roof and lots of marble on the outside.

So, to sum it up, architecture in Cuba is all about building strong structures using different materials, and creating beautiful designs and details on the outside. Some buildings might look like old castles, while others might be more modern and have a lot of windows. The most important thing is that they are built to last and be useful for the people who live and work in them.
