Arcing horns

Okay kiddo, let me explain what arcing horns are. You know how we use electricity for a lot of things these days, like to turn on lights and power our devices? Well, sometimes a lot of electricity can cause big problems.

Arcing horns are safety features that help prevent big problems from happening. They look like two little horns (like a bull's horns) that stick out from some kinds of electrical equipment, like transformers.

When too much electricity flows through the equipment, it can cause a big spark or explosion. But, the arcing horns act like a little shield to protect the equipment. Instead of letting all that electricity build up and cause an explosion, the horns create a tiny gap where a little bit of electricity can escape. This is called "arcing".

Arcing means the electricity jumps through the gap and creates a little lightning bolt. The arcing horn is designed to make sure this little lightning bolt doesn't turn into a big scary one. Instead, it helps control the flow and safely channel the electricity away.

So, arcing horns are like tiny hats that help keep your electrical equipment safe, even when too much electricity is flowing through it!
