Arcsin

Okay little one, do you know what finding the opposite of something means? It means finding what is missing to make a certain thing make sense.

Now, the opposite of a sine function is an arcsin function. When we use the sine function, we put in an angle and it gives us the height of a point on a circle. But with the arcsin function, we give it a height and it tells us what the angle is on that circle.

Let's pretend we have a Ferris wheel that goes around and around. If you're sitting in one of the seats and you want to know how high up you are at a certain point, you could use the sine function. But if you're trying to figure out what angle you're at, you would use the arcsin function.

So, the arcsin function helps us find the angle on a circle when we know the height of a point. It's like finding the missing puzzle piece to complete the circle.
