ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Arctic Council

Do you know what the Arctic is? It's a really big area that's really cold and has a lot of snow and ice. There are some countries that have land in the Arctic, like the United States, Canada, Russia, and Norway. And there are other countries that touch the Arctic, like China, Japan, and South Korea.

The Arctic Council is like a club for these countries. They get together and talk about things that are important to the Arctic, like the animals that live there, the people who live there, and how to protect the environment. They want to work together to make sure they're taking care of the Arctic and making decisions that are fair for everyone.

The Arctic Council has meetings every few years, and they invite different people to come and talk about what they think is important. Sometimes they talk about how climate change is affecting the Arctic, or how to make sure that people who live in the Arctic have what they need to survive. It's like a really big meeting of friends who want to take care of the Arctic and make it a better place for everyone.
