ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Argonne National Laboratory

Argonne National Laboratory is a special place where people do science experiments to learn new things about the world around us.

It's kind of like a big playground for scientists, where they get to use really cool toys and tools to play with atoms and molecules.

Inside Argonne, there are lots of buildings and labs where scientists work together to explore things like energy, medicine, and the environment.

They do this by using big machines called accelerators that make tiny particles go really fast and smash into each other. Then they can study what happens when things collide and learn new things about how the world works.

Argonne is a very important place because the things scientists learn there can help us find better, safer, and more efficient ways of doing things in our everyday lives.
