Arrest without warrant

Okay, kiddo, so sometimes when someone does something really bad, the police need to stop them from doing more bad things.

Now, normally the police need to have a special paper called a "warrant" that says they can go and stop that person. But sometimes, if it's an emergency or if the police see the person doing the bad thing, they can stop them without a warrant.

It's like if you see someone breaking a toy on purpose and you tell them to stop - you don't need to ask your parents for permission first, right? The police can do the same thing, but for bigger problems.

Of course, the police need to make sure they only arrest people without a warrant when it's really necessary and they have a good reason to do so. They have rules they need to follow to keep everyone safe and make sure everyone gets treated fairly.
