ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Art equity

Art equity is making sure that everyone has equal access to enjoy and benefit from art. It's like sharing your toys with your friends so that everyone can play.

This means that people from all backgrounds and communities should have the chance to see, learn, and create art. It's important because art can help us express ourselves, learn new things, and see the world in different ways.

Some people may have more opportunities to experience art than others. Art equity is about trying to make things fair by making sure that art is available to everyone, no matter where they come from or how much money they have.

Just imagine if only some kids in your class could have markers and paper to draw with, but other kids didn't. That wouldn't be fair, right? Art equity is making sure everyone has access to the markers and paper so they can all enjoy drawing together.
