So, a long time ago there was a group of people called the Artaxiad Dynasty. This means the family who ruled over a place called Armenia.
Armenia is a country that is located in the Middle East, and it's been around for a very long time. The Artaxiad Dynasty lasted from around 189 BC to 12 AD, which is a really long time!
The Artaxiad family were the rulers of Armenia for all those years. Just like how a king or queen rules over a country, the Artaxiad family were in charge of Armenia.
During their time ruling, the Artaxiads did many things for Armenia. They built roads and bridges to connect different parts of the country. They also made laws to help people live better lives, and they even started the first Armenian calendar!
Unfortunately, like most rulers, the Artaxiads had some problems too. They had fights with other countries and sometimes with each other. This made it harder for them to rule over Armenia.
Eventually, the Artaxiad Dynasty came to an end and someone else became the ruler of Armenia. But, they are still an important part of Armenian history and people still talk about them today.
