Ascospore

Okay kiddo, do you know what a mushroom is? It's a yummy thing that grows from the ground, right? Well, sometimes mushrooms have a special part inside of them called an ascus, which is like a little container.

And inside of that container, there's a tiny, tiny thing called an ascospore. You can't see it with your eyes, it's too small!

These little ascospores are like seeds for the mushroom, because when they go out of the ascus, they can grow into a whole new mushroom.

So, in summary, an ascospore is a really small thing that helps grow mushrooms!
