Ashurst-Sumners Act

When some people get sick, they need to go to the hospital to get better. But some people cannot afford to go to the hospital because it costs a lot of money. The Ashurst-Sumners Act was a law that was passed a long time ago to help these people.

The law made it so that hospitals could get loan money from the government to build new buildings and buy new equipment to help take care of sick people. This way, hospitals would be able to help more people who needed medical help, even if they didn't have a lot of money.

The loan money that the government gave to hospitals had to be paid back over time. This was like when you borrow toys from your friend, and you have to give them back when you're done playing with them.

The Ashurst-Sumners Act was a helpful law because it made healthcare more affordable for more people who needed it.
