Okay, so you know how people come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors? Well, some people come from a place called Asia or the Pacific Islands. And when we talk about those people who live in the United States, we call them Asian Pacific Americans, or APA for short.
There are LOTS of different groups of people that fall under the APA umbrella. For example, Chinese people are from China and Filipino people are from the Philippines. Some people are also from places like Japan, Vietnam, Korea, and lots of different islands in the Pacific Ocean!
Being an APA means that these people have their own unique cultures, traditions, and foods that they share with others. They also face different challenges and experiences, like trying to fit in with American culture or dealing with discrimination.
But even though there are all these differences, the APA community is also united by a common goal: to be proud of who they are and to share their stories with others in order to build a more inclusive and understanding world.
