Assisted GPS

Assisted GPS, or A-GPS, is a type of Global Positioning System (GPS) that uses extra information from the internet or your mobile phone network to figure out your exact location faster and more accurately than regular GPS. It uses your phone’s signal to find the direction you’re heading, how fast you’re going, and your exact location. A-GPS can help you find your way if you’re lost, or it can be used by apps like Instagram, Snapchat and Google Maps to give you directions and let you know how far away you are from places you want to go.
