ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Astrodome (aeronautics)

Astrodome is a special type of window in an airplane that helps the crew see the sky and other things outside the airplane. It's called an "astro" dome because it's usually installed on the top of the airplane, where the stars and planets can be seen. Think of it like a tiny little window seat for the pilots and crew!

The astrodome is often made of a clear, strong material that won't shatter or crack easily. It is designed to be positioned so that it provides the best possible view for the crew. This helps them navigate and fly the plane safely.

So, next time you are on a plane with an astrodome, look up and have a peek. You might just get a glimpse of the stars and planets, just like an astronaut in space!
