An astrolabe is a tool that people used a long time ago to help them figure out where they were and what time it was. It looks like a flat disc with lots of lines and circles on it.
When you hold it up to the sky, you can use the lines and circles to measure the position of the sun, stars, and planets. This can tell you things like what direction you're facing, how high the sun is in the sky, and what time it is.
People who used astrolabes were often sailors, astronomers, and scholars who needed to navigate and study the stars. Although we have GPS and other fancy tools to help us today, astrolabes were really important for people a long time ago!
