ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Attila

Attila was a man who lived a really long time ago, even before your great-great-great-grandparents were born. He was the leader of a group of people called the Huns, who lived in a big area in Europe and Asia.

Attila was really good at leading his people and they were very strong and powerful. They would often fight with other groups of people who lived around them, and sometimes they would win and sometimes they would lose.

Attila was known as the "Scourge of God" because he was so fierce in battle. He was also really smart and knew how to make his enemies scared. Some people even thought he had magical powers!

One time, Attila decided he wanted to attack the Roman Empire, which was a really big and powerful group of people who lived in Rome. Attila and his army marched all the way to Italy and fought with the Romans, but they eventually had to retreat back to their own land.

Even though Attila was really strong and powerful, he eventually died just like everyone else does. Some people say he died from getting a nosebleed while drunk, and others say he was killed by his own men.

In the end, Attila was a really important person in history because he led the Huns and was one of the most feared and respected leaders of his time.
