ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Audience flow

Okay, let me explain audience flow like you're five.

Imagine you're on a journey with your friends, and you all start walking together from point A to point B. As you walk, some of your friends might decide to take a detour and check out something else. Let's say, your friend Jake sees an ice cream truck and decides to buy some ice cream. He falls behind the group for a bit while he waits in line and eats his ice cream. Meanwhile, you and your other friends keep walking to point B.

That's basically what audience flow is - tracking how many people start consuming your content (point A) and how many continue through to your intended goal (point B). Just like how some of your friends may have dropped off from your group to do something else, some of your audience may stop engaging with your content at some point - maybe they got bored, or they found something else that caught their attention.

So, audience flow helps you understand how many people drop off, where they drop off, and why they drop off. By doing this, you can optimize your content and make sure more people stay engaged with your content from start to finish.
