ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Australian commerce clause

The Australian commerce clause basically means that the government has the power to regulate trade and commerce between states and territories within Australia. This means that if something is being bought, sold, or traded between different parts of Australia, the government can make rules and laws about how that trade can happen. These rules might be about things like safety, quality, or pricing. It’s kind of like having a grown-up in charge of making sure everything is fair and safe when you’re playing a game with your friends. The government is in charge of making sure everyone is playing by the rules when it comes to trade and commerce in Australia.
