Australian contribution to the Allied Intervention in Russia 1918–1919

In the year 1918-19, there was a big war going on in Russia and Australia was part of a team called the Allied Intervention. Think of it like playing a big game with a bunch of friends. The objective of this game was to help the people in Russia by fighting against some bad guys called the Bolsheviks who were trying to take over the country.

Australia sent soldiers to help the people of Russia because they wanted to show their support for the Allied team and protect their own interests. They thought that if the Bolsheviks took over Russia, it could hurt their country too.

The Australian soldiers had to travel a long way to get to Russia because it was very far away from their country. They had to travel by boat and then walk a lot to get to the fighting. They were not used to the cold weather in Russia, but they had to wear warm clothes and shoes to keep their feet from freezing.

When they arrived, they saw that the Russian soldiers were poorly equipped and needed their help. The Australian soldiers helped train and equip the Russian soldiers so that they could fight better. They also fought alongside them in many battles against the Bolsheviks.

However, it was a very hard and tough battle because the Bolsheviks were strong and the weather was harsh. The Australian soldiers faced many difficulties like snowstorms, travel issues and disease, which made their mission even harder.

Eventually, after a year of fighting, the Allied Intervention team had to leave Russia because it was becoming very difficult to fight against the Bolsheviks. Despite the difficulties, the Australian soldiers had helped the people of Russia, and it showed that they were willing to take action to protect their own interests and those of their friends.
