ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Authentic Movement

Authentic movement is when you listen to your body and move in a way that feels natural and true to you. It's like when you dance around your room or wiggle your body when you're happy, without thinking about what you look like or what anyone else thinks. You just move how you feel.

In authentic movement, you do this on purpose, and usually with other people who are doing the same thing. It can be a way to express emotions or feelings that you might not be able to put into words. It's a type of movement therapy that can help people understand themselves better and feel more in tune with their bodies.

It's important to keep in mind that authentic movement is a safe space where everyone's movements and emotions are respected and valued. It's not about trying to perform or impress anyone with your movements. It's about listening to your body and letting it guide you in a way that feels authentic to you.
