ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Autocorrect

Autocorrect is like a magic helper that helps you spell words correctly when you type on your phone or computer. When you type a word that is spelled wrong, autocorrect will try to figure out what word you were trying to type and change it to that correct word.

For example, if you accidentally type "helo" instead of "hello", autocorrect will change it for you so that it reads correctly. This can save you time and effort from having to go back and fix your mistakes.

But sometimes, autocorrect can make mistakes too! It might try to change words that are already spelled correctly, or it might change the wrong word to something else entirely. So, it's always a good idea to double-check your messages before you hit send, just in case autocorrect made a mistake.
