When we say "automate this", it means we want to find a way to make something happen automatically without us having to do it manually every time.
Let's say you have a task of adding up numbers. Normally, you would use your fingers or a calculator to add up the numbers. But if you want to automate this, you can use a computer program to add up the numbers for you.
Here's an example:
Imagine that you have a box of toys with different colors. You want to separate out all the red ones. If you do it manually, you have to go through the box and pick out all the red toys one by one. But if you want to automate this task, you can use a machine called a "robotic arm". This arm has a camera and a computer inside it that "sees" the colors and picks out all the red toys automatically.
Another example of automation is using a timer to turn off the lights in your room after you fall asleep. You don't want to get up from bed and switch off the light, do you? So, you program a timer that will do it for you automatically.
In short, automating something means finding a way to make it happen without you having to do it manually every time. This saves time and effort and ensures that the task is done consistently and accurately.
