Automated essay scoring

Automated essay scoring is a way for computers to grade essays without a person having to grade them. It works by using special computer software to look at a student's essay and grade it based on certain criteria that the software has been programmed to look for. For example, it might look for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, word usage, and structure. The computer will then assign a score to the essay based on how it meets those criteria.
