ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Automated species identification

Automated species identification is a way of using computers to automatically figure out which type of animal (or species) something is. It looks at the features of the animal, like the shape of its body, the fur or feathers it has, and the sound it makes, and uses special programming to compare those features to a database of animals it knows. Then, it can figure out which animal it is!
