Autotransplantation

Hello little one!

"Autotransplantation" is a big word that means taking something from one part of your body and putting it in another part of your body.

Let's say you have a tooth that is damaged and needs to be removed. But instead of leaving a gap where the tooth was, the dentist can take a tooth from another part of your mouth and put it in the gap. This is called autotransplantation!

Another example is when someone needs a kidney transplant. If their own kidneys are not working well, a healthy kidney can be taken from another part of their body and put into the spot where the old, not-working kidney was.

So, autotransplantation means taking something from one part of your body and putting it somewhere else, to help that part of the body work better. Fancy word, but simple idea!
