Aversive agent

An aversive agent is something that makes you feel uncomfortable or bad. Imagine if someone sprayed a stinky perfume in your face, that would be an aversive agent because it would make you feel yucky. Or, if you eat too many sweets and your tummy starts hurting, that's an aversive agent too because it makes you feel sick. Sometimes things are used as aversive agents to help people learn, like how a parent might say "if you don't clean your room, I'm going to take away your toys" to encourage their child to do their chores.
