Aviation is the technology of flying planes and helicopters. People use planes, helicopters, and other flying vehicles to travel around the world and go places they couldn't go without them. Planes and helicopters have wings that help them stay in the air and engines that help them move. Pilots use these wings and engines to control the airplane and make it go where they want it to go. So when you fly in an airplane, a pilot is in control, using the wings and engine to keep the plane in the air and get you quickly and safely to your destination.
