Avidya (Hinduism)

Avidya is a Sanskrit word that means "ignorance". In Hinduism, avidya is a belief that our minds create false ideas and beliefs that prevent us from seeing the true nature of the world and of ourselves. This kind of ignorance stops us from experiencing true happiness and inner peace. We must learn to break through this ignorance, by using meditation and reflection, so that we can get closer to enlightenment and be able to live our lives with love, joy and peace.
