Awards and decorations of the Civil Air Patrol

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen someone in a uniform with shiny things on it? Those are called awards and decorations and they show that the person did a really good job at something important.

In the Civil Air Patrol, which is kind of like a club for people who love to fly planes and do other important things like search and rescue missions, there are lots of different awards and decorations.

For example, if someone does really well on a test about things like flying or leadership, they might get a ribbon with a little metal thing on it. The more ribbons and metal things they get, the better they did!

There are also medals, which are bigger and shinier than the ribbons. People might get a medal if they do something really important, like save someone's life during a search and rescue mission.

Overall, these awards and decorations are kind of like gold stars or trophies for grown-ups in the Civil Air Patrol. They show that they did their best and that they're really good at what they do!
