Back-breeding

Back-breeding is a process scientists use to get animals or plants with certain desired characteristics. They do this by taking characteristics from a parent animal or plant and with careful breeding, getting babies with the same characteristics as the parent. By doing this over and over, they can create a animal or plant that is "back-bred" to look like its ancestors.
