Bad sector

Imagine your computer stores all your homework and games on a big whiteboard.
But sometimes, when you write things on the whiteboard too much or too hard, it can start to get damaged.

The same thing can happen to the computer’s storage. Sometimes, tiny parts of it can get damaged or broken. We call that a bad sector.

When a bad sector happens, it means that the computer can’t use that part of the storage anymore. Like if your whiteboard gets a big scratch in the middle, you can’t use that part to write on anymore.

Usually, computers can fix bad sectors by marking them as bad and avoiding using them again. But if there are too many bad sectors, the computer might start to have trouble working properly.

So just like you need to be careful with your whiteboard and not write on it too hard, it’s important to take care of your computer and not put too much strain on its storage.
