Badge engineering

Badge engineering is when a company makes a car that is really the same as another company's car, but they put their own name and logo on it to make it seem like it's a different car. It's like if you have a toy car that looks exactly like your friend's toy car, but you put stickers on yours to make it look like a different toy car. Just like how the toy cars are really the same, the cars made through badge engineering are mostly the same too. Companies do this to save money and time on designing new cars, and also because sometimes people prefer one company's brand over another even if the car is the same.
