Baffles (submarine)

Okay, so have you ever been in a swimming pool and someone was splashing around and it made some waves? Well, submarines can make waves too when they move through the water. These waves can be really noisy and give away the submarine's location, which is not good when you're trying to be stealthy.

That's where baffles come in. Baffles are like special walls or barriers inside the submarine that help to quiet down the waves that the submarine makes as it moves through the water. These walls are usually curved or angled in a certain way that helps to absorb the sound waves and keep them from getting out.

Think of it like when you sing into your hands and it makes your voice sound quieter. The baffles work kind of like that, but instead of hands, they're walls inside the submarine. The quieter the submarine can be, the better it can sneak around without getting detected by anyone who might be listening.

So basically, baffles are important because they help submarines to be stealthy and go undetected while they move through the water by keeping the waves they make as quiet as possible.
