ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Baháʼí Faith and gender equality

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of the Baháʼí Faith? It's a religion that believes in loving everyone no matter what their religion, race or gender is. The Baháʼí Faith believes that boys and girls, men and women are all equal and should be treated the same way.

So let's say you and your brother both want to be doctors when you grow up. The Baháʼí Faith would say that both of you should have the same opportunities to become doctors. You and your brother should have the same education and training because being a girl or a boy doesn't affect your ability to be a good doctor.

Some people used to think that girls were not as smart or as strong as boys, and should only do certain jobs like being a teacher or a nurse. But the Baháʼí Faith says that girls and boys can do whatever they want and they should be treated the same way.

So remember, the Baháʼí Faith believes that everyone should be loved and treated equally, no matter what gender they are.
