Ball-pen probe

A ball-pen probe is a very small tool that scientists and doctors use to examine things that are too tiny to see with their eyes. Imagine having a really small pen that has a ball on the end, like a tiny marble. The ball is so small that it can fit into really tiny spaces, like the inside of your body or even the cells of plants and animals.

Now pretend you're a scientist who wants to study a cell. You can use the ball-pen probe to gently touch the outside of the cell, and the ball will pick up some of the material from the cell. You can then analyze this material to learn more about what's inside the cell.

It's like using a cookie cutter to cut out shapes from dough - the ball-pen probe lets scientists cut out tiny samples from cells and other small things so they can study them more closely. This helps them learn more about how the world works, from the inside out.
